Germany’s most successful motorsport-series has featured a wide range of cars and exciting races, since 1977. Today 28 classes and over 200 cars regularly compete for class rankings and of course the overall victory. The long-distance race format demands the ultimate concentration from both the drivers and teams. Four to six hours, man and machine are forced to perform at their best.
It’s not surprising that the track is known as the Green Holle, The Green Hell!
Purple Dot have our own VLN race team, racing two cars, a BMW M240i, and a BMW M4.
With it’s impressive performance figures, the BMW M240i Racing – a production-based coupé – meets all the basic requirements of a successful entry-level racing car. The M240i competes in the VLN Championship and the iconic Nürburgring 24 Hours.
The amazing BMW M4 was new for 2018 and has already shown itself to be super competitive on the world GT4 stage.

For 2019 we also have a BMW M4 GT4. In a new for 2018 but up and coming class in VLN we have great expectations with this car.
The Purple Dot BMW is run by Walkenhorst Racing, a family-run business with years of experience in the VLN Championship. Walkenhorst are a factory supported team, running test and race programmes on behalf of BMW. They prepare the BMW M240i, two of the amazing M6 Cars in the top SP9 category and the BMW GT4.
The team regularly have factory contracted drivers, driving both types of car. This makes sure the BMW factory engineers are always working closely with us, and of course means anyone in our Purple Dot car gets to have an excellent comparison with the factory drivers.
